I got my first haircut of the “Subway Barbers” project this afternoon. Let the fun begin!
Toby (the wife) shot these pictures of me on Friday morning (Jan 18th). Unfortunately, I didn’t get around to getting a haircut until this afternoon. My hair didn’t change that much in that time, so these will have to do. I’ll upload the “after” shots and more details on the haircut and the shop later tonight.
While it looks like Toby and I went to a Sears portrait studio to shoot these, that’s actually our living room wall in the background.
I’m including this since the back of my head sort of looks like the jet stream. Compare and contrast!

Hello,
As an amateur hair cutter for men, I have to say that Im completely entertained by your website and I have to agree with your wife’s comment, the back bottom is not supposed to be concave, and its not the kind of haircut you go back to fix. That said, I think the use of clippers instead of scissors is the downfall of the modern men’s haircut. They are entirely unnecessary and a short cut. (ha ha) Which may be helpful when you’re getting your hair cut on your lunch hour. I know there’s a haircutting place in the times square station if you go in on 43rd and 8th entrance or thereabouts. Anyways, Im really glad your doing this project, and Ill be checking back in the future!
Thanks
Claudia
